2D Ultrasound at 4 Weeks Gestation. Your pregnancy journey from the Perinatal Sonographer's viewpoint. Follow me along. I begin this blog at 4 weeks gestation with a transvaginal 2D ultrasound. This Pregnancy has a due date of February 10, 2023.

In the 2D ultrasound image above, the small black circle in the center of the uterus may not look like much, but the circle is what we call the gestational sac. This image is magnified but on a normal scale would present as a tiny black dot. You would not normally have an ultrasound at this gestational age.
